Hey, how are you? I hope you’re having a good week.
It’s been a tough one for me but also one where I’ve learned some lessons and I wanted to share.
I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
PSALM 139:14
So, this week I joined a prayer circle group. I’ve been praying a lot lately about finding my ‘tribe’ so to speak; looking for connection with women that I can have fun with and pray with. A friend (who I love dearly but lives far away) suggested joining the group as she had found it to be a ‘beautiful and challenging journey’ (her words). I wasn’t prepared for just how challenging it would be until Day 3. We are following The Purpose Driven Life devotional by Rick Warren and the title of Day 3 is: You are not an accident.
I am the youngest of five and the only girl. Growing up, I always felt out of place, odd, different. I was shy and froze when anyone new spoke to me. My four brothers were and still are, charming, can talk for England, and hold people’s attention.
I wished I was like them.
It felt embarrassing to be me.
I thought I wasn’t enough.
It’s so easy to get caught up in our own thoughts and listen to the lies of the enemy. But what does the Word of God say?
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
PSALM 139:16
I love this verse because it tells me God knew me before I was even formed. Before my mum met my dad, or their mums met their dads, God knew me.
And he knows you too.
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the work of Thine own hands.
PSALM 138:8
When the testing gets too much, I try to remember this. It means I don’t have to have it all together. It means I don’t have to have it all worked out because God is the One Who will perfect – complete the work He has begun in me.
All I need to do is trust Him and step out in faith.
Maybe you’ve been feeling how I felt. Maybe you’re questioning your purpose.
Know this – your life is not an accident.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
PROVERBS CH.3:5
Keep trusting. Keep moving forwards and let the LORD lead the way.
Love and blessings
